My Natural Toys

I recently had the chance to try out a few of the all natural organic plush toys from miYim. We got the dog from their MyNatural Line, and the frog from their Fairy Tale collection. What is the difference between these toys and normal ones, you might ask? Well, miYim strives to make these as environmentally friendly as they can. From their site:

"The actual process of making our toys is as important to us as the materials we use. Our specialized natural filtering system purifies waste-water from coloring process before releasing back to the environment. This purification process reduces harmful impact to the environment during the process of making our toys.

No chemicals or harmful substances are used in making of miYim products and our low-eco impact dye process filters water wastage using natural enzymes before releasing back to the nature. "

They also use natural plants and minerals to dye the fabric used. It's nice to know that when my daughter plays with these toys she is not getting any harmful chemicals. They are super soft toys, and you can rest assured that they are 100% safe for your kids.

Why do they try so hard to make safe toys? "One third of the world’s pesticides are used on cotton crops alone. These chemicals are absorbed into the cotton plant, the air, the soil, the water and eventually, our bodies. These harmful toxins also make their way back into our food chain - the cotton seeds are used to feed the cattle we get our milk and beef from, and also used to make cotton seed oil, a cornerstone of the processed foods most families eat every day; and it's just not bad for the planet; 20,000 deaths occur each year from pesticide poisoning in developing countries, many of these from cotton farming, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)."

Scary, huh? Another nice thing about these toys, is that they also come in a handmade box made from recycled materials, and is meant to be reused. They encourage you to use the box to store your photos, or recipes, or anything else.

You may have seen these before an wondering why they look familiar. Well, it's because they're sold at Target! Very convenient!

I just wanted to give a thank you to RoleMommy for letting us try out these awesome toys!
