Awards!

I have been honored with so many awards lately! I love it! i have been really, really bad about accepting them and passing them though. I'm going to try to post all of them today. If you sent me an award and don't see it here, PLEASE let me know. I tried going back though all my comments, but I think I may have missed a few. OK, so here goes.

This one was awarded to me by Everyday Adventures, Jaime from Just Add Laughter, Simply Anonymom, and Karen from A Blog of Goodies.

Here is how the Brilliant Weblog Award works . . .

The person giving the award chooses blogs that they consider brilliant in their content or design. In return, the recipient is expected to choose a minimum of seven blogs that they like. They leave comments on these blogs to notify the winners. They then post about receiving the award on their blog (like this) and list their choices with links. They also include a mention of whom they received the award and include a link. Pictures are great, but not necessary.

My seven bloggers I award this to are:
1. Susan from What Happened to My House
2. Heather from My Quest for Sanity
3. Cat from 3 Kids and Us
4. Jenna from For the Love of Baby
5. Staci from Momma's Gone Over the Wall
6. Christy from The Write Gal
7. Alicia from The Life of a Crazed Mommy

This one was awarded to me by Carey from Not Quite Martha Stewart, Susan from Life in a House of Blue, and Firefly Shop.

The seven blogs I award this to are:
1.Kim from What's That Smell
2. Erika from Chic Shopper Chick
3. Tina from Punky Monkey's
4. Rachel from Following in my Shoes
5. Kaycee from Life as a Mom at 22
6. Sara from My Sippy Cup Runneth Over
7. Toni from Just Stop Screaming
8. I had to add one more, since I told myself not to forget this person, and I did. I really do love her blog, so I had to include her! Jennifer from Family Pogo.

This one was awarded to me by Jamie from Just Add Laughter.

I do not speak Portuguese so I here's the translation of the award and the meaning behind it:
“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy] How awesome is that?

"They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?

"Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

So my understanding is that this award goes to people who are charming, unselfish, and I want to give them more attention.

The eight blogs I award this one to are:
1. Bridgette from the Not-So-Blog Blog
2. AJ from A Little Bit Nutty
3. Tina from The Adventures of a Working Mom
4. Kim from All About Kimberly
5. Celeste from Debateur Debates
6. Kritta from The Waggoner's Wonderful World of Writing
7. Susan from Life in a House of Blue
8. Stacey from Havoc and Mayhem

Vote for ME!

I've been nominated for the Dottie Awards! In what category, you might ask?

Oh yeah! My Dad would agree! In fact, that was what he called me when I was in high school. I was in the colorguard, and was assistant captain my junior year, and captain my senior year. I marched in over 100 parades (I didn't keep count) performed in tons of field shows (halftime show at football games) and spent most of the time outside of school at a rehearsal or performance. My favorite part was when we did winterguard, which is a show indoors with just the colorguard. That was by far the best time. We had to do the fieldshows and parades to be a part of the winterguard. We were good too. The top guard in the nation would watch us perform when we were at the same shows, and gave us compliments. We won lots of trophies and awards. Well, to prove that I really was, and still am, a band geek, here are some pictures and a video!

This was me last night. I put on one of my old uniforms (Yes, I still have it! I thought it might make a good Halloween costume or something. It did look kind of spacey)

This was the band picture my sophomore year

This was my senior year

This was us at a winterguard show my junior year.

This was us a fieldshow my junior year

This is me, and my friend Rebecca. Aren't those dresses just wonderful? (Honestly, they were better than some of the other things we had to wear!)

This was actually during a winterguard performance. It is blurry, but I didn't have a fancy camera.

OK, this was some of us my junior year. It was a dress up day at school where the seniors were superheros, the juniors villains, the sophomores the sidekicks, and the freshmen were the police. I show this picture to show off my lovely green pants. These were actually from a uniform my sophomore year. For the fieldshow we did Little Shop of Horrors, and we had these horrible green overalls. They had an elastic waist and then the top came up and tied over the shoulders. We called them our booger suits. When that year was over, we pretty much all cut the top off, and then they became these awesome pants. They were great for St. Patrick's Day, or to wear to rehearsal. My Dad used to ask me everyday when I came home from school if I had done anything to embarrass him that day. When I came home wearing these pants, he'd just say, "Geez, I don't even have to ask today. I KNOW you embarrassed me today!"

Here is a video I made last night to show that I am still a band geek! The video has no sound, since I don't have a video camera, and this was a clip taken with my old digital camera. Please excuse the sloppiness, I haven't picked up a rifle or sabre in about 7 years! I used to be able to do a solid quad (Throw it up and have it spin around 4 times in the air before catching it) with the rifle, and a 6 with the sabre. I could do a 2 1/2 with the flag, and I can throw all of them and turn around and catch them behind my back without looking. I'm not sure how much I could do today, but like I said, I graduated about 7 years ago!

So please, please, please go vote for me at MomDot here. I am behind, and I need all the votes I can get! Thank you to those who already voted for me, without me asking. It's nice to know I have friends in the bloggy world! I like to to know that I'm not just writing to myself, other people are actually reading my blog too! Just go to the Band Geek Category and click on the circle next to Trish from Sweet 'n' Sassy Girls. While you're there, also vote for A Parker Fam under Most Likely to Succeed. That is me also, just with my personal blog. I will put up an argument on there for why you should vote for me in a minute.
